Orange Cyberdefense South Africa is born from the SensePost team originally founded in Centurion 24 years ago.
In February 2019, SensePost became a part of Orange Cyberdefense – Europe’s leading go-to security services provider. We are currently looking for an Ethical Hacking IT Support person to join our team!
The SensePost Ethical Hacking IT team supports systems used by Ethical Hackers and other corporate staff, utilizing a mix of open-source and commercial software on both local and cloud platforms. We are looking for a problem-solver with a passion for building and innovating solutions, who can also provide technical support across a range of heterogeneous systems and environments.
The ideal candidate is naturally a builder, who will take the time to research current technologies and solutions, build their own and tinker with it, then put together something awesome for the SensePost Team. The person should also be able to provide support to a variety of technical users using heterogeneous Operating Systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the SensePost Ethical Hacking team.
- Maintain, secure, and improve Ethical Hacking operational services (e.g., scanners, jump boxes, phishing infrastructure, reporting servers, AWS environments, GitLab).
- Support long-term projects related to Ethical Hacking infrastructure as defined by the IT Manager.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the IT support and infrastructure management areas, reducing manual intervention and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Offer first-line support for corporate staff (HR, Finance, Sales) in collaboration with Orange Cyberdefense Global IT Operations.
- Manage hardware assets and software licenses.
- Oversee the on/offboarding process for Ethical Hacking staff.
- Assist in cloud infrastructure support and laptop procurement.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides for both IT and Ethical Hacking teams. Share knowledge across teams to ensure consistency and improve technical support.
- Proactively research, test, and implement new tools and technologies to improve the infrastructure and support systems.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Linux-based Operating Systems (server environments, command line, software installation, configuration, patching).
- Experience with securing cloud infrastructures, systems hardening, vulnerability management, and applying best practices in cybersecurity.
- Experience with Windows and macOS desktop environments.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with Docker environments.
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python).
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Linode, Digital Ocean).
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, Routing) and common protocols (HTTP, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
- Experience with systems monitoring and logging.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, teamwork, and adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and environments.
Education
- IT qualification or 2+ years relevant experience.
- Certifications and experience supporting Linux environments.
- AWS, GCP, or Azure certifications are highly desirable.
